Dr. Paula understands the unique challenges faced by elderly patients, including medication sensitivities, cognitive impairments, and physical limitations. Dr. Kim is a Board-Certified Periodontist and Dental Implant Surgeon. She received her Bachelor of Arts/Doctor of Dental Surgery (BA/DDS) in a 7-year joint program at New York University College of Dentistry. Upon graduation, she pursued her Certificate in Periodontology at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she also received her Master of Medical Science (MMSc) in Oral Biology.

Dr. Kim’s research focused on Quantitative Analysis of Volumetric Change after Two Soft Tissue Grafting Procedures and was presented at the Ivy Symposium on Periodontal Regeneration Infrabony Defects. She also likes to give back to the community and participated in the Global Outreach in Grenada and served as the Director of Community Service in the NYU Aesthetic Society as a dental student.

This year, I am proud to be celebrating my 5th anniversary as a Registered Dental Hygienist at Hudson Family Dental. With over eighteen years of experience in dental care, my journey began as a Registered Dental Assistant before advancing to earn my Dental Hygiene and Applied Sciences Degree from Hostos Community College.

My greatest joy in dentistry stems from cultivating meaningful relationships with my patients and working alongside them to achieve optimal oral health. I am committed to staying at the forefront of dental technology and products, ensuring that each patient receives personalized care tailored to their unique needs.

Born in Venezuela, Astrid pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a doctor and graduated with a dental degree in 2016. Now working as a dental assistant in the US while continuing her studies, Astrid is dedicated, smart, and persistent.

Her eloquence and optimism shine through in every interaction, making her a favorite among patients and colleagues alike. Passionate about helping others, Astrid is committed to providing the best care possible. Her journey from Venezuela to the US is a testament to her determination and love for dentistry.
